Meditating gives you more energy 🧘⚡, but not in the way you think it will.
It doesn’t give you the same kind of rough, chemical energy ⚗️⚡ you get from eating a bowl of cherries 🍒. Or sipping bitter bean water ☕.
Rather, the energy borne of meditation is subtler 🌸. This is infinite-based stillness meditation, after all. The source we’re drawing from is your soul qualities ✨.
The difference here is that you’ll find that moving through your day becomes more and more effortless, more and more joyful, with more and more serendipitous events.
Here’s three kinds of energy you get from meditation...
There’s a lightness-of-being energy that comes from experiencing a stillness within. It makes living in the real world much easier when you feel lighter, like the heaviness of Life isn’t weighing down on you.
When your mind is full of appreciation instead of criticism, gratitude instead of lack, love instead of fear, you move through your day with a spring in your step. Anger melts away. You’re working stiller, not harder.
Then there’s a kind of uplifting energy that comes from mental clarity, purpose, and hope. It’s like you suddenly notice that you’ve had a “downward” focused inner awareness and now it feels “upward”. Hard to describe, yet this state makes decisions simple because your perceptions are “lifted” and you can feel your path unfolding in front of you. You feel supported.
The most surprising energy is the energy of presence. Not presence of the body. Rather, presence of the soul. When you repeatedly touch the stillness of your soul as you meditate, this remarkable presence inevitably returns. (And it’s always unexpected when it does return, like, “Oh! Hello there!”.)
The energy of presence makes you feel alive, often with a boost of joy emerging behind it, because joy is a quality of the soul too.
“What about other meditation formats that talk about using energy?” you ask.
I realize other formats talk endlessly and reverently about energy, but that is something else entirely. That is about manipulating subtle body energies and universal energies. Sounds exotic, doesn’t it? Maybe mysterious too?
As it turns out, manipulating subtle energies is #1 effortful, #2 unsustainable, and #3 it doesn’t lead you back to your soul. It’s a peak spiritual theater that wastes lifetimes of effort.
So it’s best to be simple in your meditation practice. Simple and direct, with resting back into the stillness of the soul as the goal.
Then you’ll have an abundance of lightness-of-being energy, uplifting energy, and energy of presence to effortlessly transform your life.
